The Putnam County Tax Collector office is glad to offer Kids Tag Art (KTA), a successful school fundraising program that inspires fifth grade art students to design a decorative, front-end license plate. The KTA program was founded in Polk County, and has exceeded $2 Million raised for the classes across the program’s 14 participating Florida counties over the years! KTA teaches students about the practical application of license plate art and how Florida’s 100+ specialty license plates support worthy causes. Each year as a part of the art curriculum, nearly 1,000 participating young Putnam County artist/students are asked to create their own unique design highlighting a subject/cause they have an interest in. This is one project of many which transforms the STEM education to the STEAM, with the A for Art, accounting for the place creative self-expression plays in developing innovative leaders for tomorrow.
To further help fund our local school’s art programs and foster creativity in our youth, we are asking community champions like you to join our team. The majority of the funds raised are from businesses and community leaders across Florida who have discovered the value that arts education has in student success.
We are in year 10 of this program, which has returned directly to the Putnam County school art programs a total of over $75,000. Additionally, through dedicated sponsors, each artist/student is given a copy of their personal metal plate to affix to a family car, which brings visibility to their passion. In a nut shell, from an idea, to a tangible product, to a sales opportunity and a personal sense of accomplishment as they display their plate.
Putnam County Kids Tag Art is a 601(C)(3) program. All net proceeds from sales and sponsorships will go directly to the participating schools.
