Resident Hunting License
A resident hunting license authorizes the holder to take or attempt to take or possess game or fur bearing animals consistent with state and federal regulations, and rules of the Commission. Licenses are valid 12 months from the specified start date and cannot be renewed/issued more than 60 days in advance.
Hunters are required to carry a valid license while taking or attempting to take game or fur-bearing animals.
Exemptions
- Any child under 16 years old. Must complete a hunter education course and be supervised by an adult.
- Any person hunting in his county of residence on his homestead.
- Any resident who is a member of the US Armed Forces who is not stationed in Florida, but home on leave with orders for 30 days or less, upon submission of orders.
- A Florida resident 65 years of age or older. Must carry proof of age and residency.
- Residents certified as totally and permanently disabled.
